Background:	GA1 is a chloroplastic ent-copalyl diphosphate synthase. It catalyzes the conversion of geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate (GGPP) to copalyl pyrophosphate (CPP), the first committed step in gibberellin biosynthesis. Its activity is essential for plant growth and development, and mutations cause dwarfism.
